The GR and Lobbying Case Championship “GRanitsa Vliyaniya” came to a close in Moscow on December 5, with Baikal Lobridge as one of its partners. The championship was designed to help students develop practical skills at the intersection of public policy, corporate governance, and regulation.
The competition attracted strong interest from students across Moscow. A total of 319 applications were submitted at the first stage, with 112 participants from leading universities advancing to the first round. They represented institutions including the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), MGIMO University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, HSE University, Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The championship brought together students from some of the country’s leading universities preparing future professionals in public policy, economics, and law.
As part of the “GR in Non-Profit Organizations” section, organized with the support of Baikal Lobridge, teams worked on a case addressing the issue of stray animals in Russia. Experts highlighted the participants’ strong engagement, in-depth analysis of the regulatory environment, and thoughtful approach to balancing the interests of government, society, and the non-profit sector. The teams developed practical recommendations that took into account both government priorities and public concerns.
The championship gave participants an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of how decisions that affect industries, companies, and non-profit organizations are developed and implemented. Working on cases based on real-world examples, students tackled practical management challenges, engaged with industry experts, and presented their solutions to a professional audience.
As part of the championship’s educational program, Baikal Lobridge CEO and PhD in Political Science Eduard Voytenko also held a masterclass. He shared practical approaches to building effective mechanisms for cooperation between business and government and answered participants’ questions about career opportunities in GR and lobbying.
