On 5 June 2026, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will host a session titled “Role of NGOs and Environmental Initiatives as Drivers of Change”.

Environmental projects are increasingly becoming the result of joint efforts between government, business, the scientific community, and non-profit organizations. This kind of collaboration helps bring together resources and expertise to address sustainability challenges and protect the environment.

Among the speakers is Anastasia Tsvetkova, CEO of the Foundation for Applied Environmental Research and Studies “Lake Baikal” and Senior Partner for Climate and Sustainability at Baikal Lobridge. She will share Russian and international experience of cooperation between government, business, and non-profit organizations in implementing environmental projects and advancing sustainable development practices.

The discussion will focus on why cross-sector collaboration has become a key factor in effective environmental policy, the role of volunteer movements, academic and expert communities, and local initiatives in promoting environmental action, as well as which international approaches could be relevant for Russia.

Date: 5 June 2026.
Time: 09:00–10:15.
Location: Hall H, “Soul of Russia” Pavilion, Sociocreative Platform of the Roscongress Foundation.
