Baikal Lobridge Named Winner of the “Branding of the Year” Award

Baikal Lobridge and Depot branding agency have been named laureates of the national “Branding of the Year” award in the “Rebranding (positioning change, renaming, redesign)” category.

The rebranding was a response to changes that have taken place over recent years both within the company and across the Government Relations (GR) and Public Affairs market. The name Baikal Communications Group was historically associated primarily with lobbying projects and interactions with government authorities. Over time, however, the company significantly expanded its expertise and scope of services, and the previous positioning no longer fully reflected the nature of the work being delivered.

Today, Baikal Lobridge combines GR and Public Affairs practices with political, legal, and economic analysis, as well as expertise in regulatory risk assessment and lawmaking processes.

As part of its development, the company has significantly strengthened its analytical center, which focuses on political and regulatory risks, scenario modeling, social media intelligence, and related fields. Its role is to provide a more comprehensive and precise foundation for developing client solutions, complementing GR and Public Affairs expertise with a systematic analytical layer.

In essence, the analytical center has become one of the key components of the expanding Baikal Lobridge ecosystem, where different directions—from consulting and legal expertise to research and educational initiatives—are increasingly operating as a single interconnected structure. This has allowed the company to consolidate previously fragmented projects into a unified framework and integrate them into the overall logic of the brand, where each component reinforces the core positioning and strengthens the perception of the company as a systematic strategic partner. At the same time, projects in GR and lobbying increasingly require integrated support, including analytical, legal, and digital capabilities. The new positioning was designed to reflect these shifts and to present the company as it has long been perceived by its clients and partners.

The development of the new brand was carried out over the course of a year in cooperation with Depot. The teams reviewed the brand strategy, updated Baikal Lobridge’s positioning and visual identity, and adapted the company’s digital infrastructure to its current stage of development.
“Rebranding was important to ensure that our work in building a more structured and transparent environment in GR and lobbying is reflected at both the visual and conceptual levels.

The Depot team delivered a significant scope of work to ensure that Baikal Lobridge is clearly perceived by its target audience as a strategic partner — in visual language, positioning, naming, and digital communication structure.

At the same time, continuity was preserved so that the accumulated reputational capital was not lost, while also enabling further scaling of the company’s activities. We aimed to avoid being limited by overly descriptive naming or positioning,” says Laura Mollaeva, Head of Strategy & Product Development at Baikal Lobridge.
Receiving this award became an important validation that the transformation extended beyond the brand’s visual identity and reflected a broader evolution in the company’s overall approach to growth and development. For Baikal Lobridge, the rebranding became part of a long-term effort to help shape a more mature and transparent environment within the GR and Public Affairs industry, where trust, expertise, and the quality of communication are just as important as the solutions themselves.
